What's really in your fast food?
October 7th 2011 00:27
Very little actual food it seems and a whole lot of chemicals and additives. The number of ingredients in fast food is unbelievable and unnecessary. Here are a few examples:
KFC Chunky Pot Pies
82 ingredients including Gelatin (from animal hooves, bones and skin), L-cysteine hydrochloride (most commonly obtained from human hair) and Red 40 (crushed beetles).
McDonalds Big Mac
95 ingredients including Ammonium Sulfate (fertilizer) and Calcium Disodium EDTA (prevents microscopic pieces of metal from discoloring or spoiling a liquid).
Chick-Fil-A Chicken Sandwich
83 ingredients including 1410 mgs of salt, TBHQ (an organic preservative also found in some dog food, perfumes, varnishes, and resins) and Dimethylpolysiloxane (anti-foaming agent also found in silly putty).
Baskin-Robbins Oreo Layered Sundae
78 ingredients including 146 grams of sugar and 1330 calories, Cellulose gum (an additive also used in shampoo, detergents and laxatives) and Propyl paraben (we've all heard the controversy about parabens and the possible dangers associated with them).
