I thought a stop by some unusual online museums and collections might be fun or at least a nice way to waste some time. I was surprised at some of the things people feel are worthy of collecting and displaying. Maybe taking a look at someone else's collection of treasures will inspire you to start one of your own.
This was one of those that really surprised me, but the good thing is that this collection doesn't take up much room and it's pretty colorful. It's the condiment package gallery.
Chris Harne, the owner of this collection is offering the following button to anyone that can send in a new packet that isn't in this collection already.
Next is the Barbed Wire Museum also known as the Devils Rope Museum. This site includes the history of barb wire as well as illustrations of different types of antique wire and some info about each. Who would have thought there are enough different types of barb wire for a museum.
A visit to The Grocery Lists collection was disturbingly interesting. Looking at the lists was a little like viewing a small snapshot of someone else's life. I enjoyed reading the descriptions some people wrote about the items on their list and the notes they added. You can submit your own list or one you find.
The Museum of Temporary Art is a 40x50cm cabinet with 33 compartments and is housed in a private home. Each compartment holds a different item and is displayed online. It's temporary as the items keep changing. You can donate an item to the museum for display.
