Bet you've never heard of these before. Neither had I until I got a free sample of some cocoa which included these miracle energy boosters called cordyceps. Sounds great doesn't it. I decided to look into exactly what these are. It turns out they are a fungus similar to mushrooms, except these are parasitic to insects. They takeover the bodies of insects and feed off them, of course they eventually kill them.
See that picture above. Those are called cordyceps sinensis, also known as caterpillar fungus. They are called that because as you can see, the fungus is actually growing out of the back of the caterpillar. The picture below shows cordyceps campanotus growing from an ants body.
